Optical Lenses

Hoya lenses may not be a household name yet, but if you’re considering the brand’s lenses you’re in good hands. The company’s lenses have been used on space shuttles, medical imaging devices, and even inside LCD TV panels. Hoya combines over 50 years of optical engineering experience with advanced materials, and high-tech knowledge. Hoya’s lenses are designed specifically for your eyes. Whether you need single vision, progressives, specialty lenses, or a glare-busting coating, you’ll be impressed with their optical performance. Our achievements in lens technology guarantee the unsurpassed binocular performance of each lens design. We strive to help the large group of spectacle wearers who suffer from asthenopic complaints caused by visual imbalance. In addition, our lens technology provides effortless focusing and relaxed, stable vision in today’s dynamic, digital world.

Since eyeglasses were invented, lens designs have been a little like a “one-size-fits-all”. HOYA was one of the first to revolutionize lenses through their innovative design and ongoing research and development. HOYA supplies premium quality lenses to suit everyone’s individual needs and lifestyles.

Hoya Vision Superior Scratch Resistance is proven to be the most durable anti-reflective coating available. It guarantees exceptionally clear, relaxed vision while prolonging the life and look of the lenses.

The condition and performance of your lenses depend heavily on the quality of the coating. This is the hardest, most durable anti-reflective coating available today. Its scratch-resistant, water, dirt and dust-repellent properties remain almost intact, even after intensive cleaning.

Nova manufactures Free-Form lenses in both single vision and progressive since these lenses are engineered to account for the minutest variation in prescriptions. Free-Form lenses provide increased clarity and superior cosmetics.

Specifically, Free-Form surfaced backside progressive lenses have a 30%+ wider visual field, maximizing distance, intermediate and near vision zones. This virtually eliminates swim and instability along with all of the distortion inherent in conventional progressive lenses, ensuring the highest level of visual satisfaction.

Free-Form surfaced single vision lenses are also superior to conventional single vision lenses in every way. Increased visual clarity plus cosmetic differences are especially noticeable in higher prescriptions.

Designing lenses that take into account how both eyes work together is not an easy task. The math is complex in a purely theoretically environment but when you factor in other variables like frame dimensions, the position of the glasses on an individual patient’s face and the limits that lens manufacturing and optics place, it’s no wonder why no one has done this before. That’s what makes the SHAW lens unique. The SHAW lens process uses a patent-pending method to accurately model eye rotation in order to predict distortions caused by eyeglasses. We then use that information to design a lens that reduces or eliminates the distortion other lenses can cause. The key to making a SHAW lens is the measurement of Motor fusion (vergence) limits by the optometrist using Risley prisms on the phoropter. It’s these tolerances that make all the difference.
